How Eyebrow Threading Works
Threading is an old and simple way to shape brows and remove facial hair, and it's still one of the most precise.
The thread
We twist a thin piece of cotton thread into a small loop.
Row by row
As we roll the twisted thread across your skin, it catches a whole row of tiny hairs and lifts them out from the follicle.
Clean lines
Because we control the thread hair by hair, we can follow your natural brow shape and get crisp, even lines.
Why Clients Love Threading
- Precise brow shaping. We can take out even very fine, short hairs, one row at a time.
- Nothing hot and no chemicals. Just clean cotton thread, with no wax or strips.
- Kind to sensitive skin. The thread touches only the hair, not the top layer of skin.
- Quick. Most brow appointments take about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Long lasting. Results usually last about 3 to 4 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows.
- Clean and hygienic. A fresh piece of thread is used for every client.
Threading vs Waxing
Both work well. Here's how they compare for brows and face, so you can choose what's right for you.
| Threading | Waxing | |
|---|---|---|
| What touches your skin | Cotton thread only, no heat or chemicals | Warm wax, then a strip or pull |
| Sensitive skin | Usually gentler. Often a better choice if you use retinoids or acne medication (ask your doctor if unsure) | Wax can lift or irritate skin, so it's usually not advised with retinoids or acne medication |
| Shaping | Very precise, row by row | Covers a wider area at once, less detail |
| Risk of burns or skin lifting | None from heat. Thread doesn't pull on the skin surface | Possible if the wax is too hot or skin is sensitive |
| Time for brows | About 10 to 15 minutes | Similar, plus time to heat and apply wax |
| Hygiene | New single-use thread for every client | Depends on salon practice |
Everyone's skin is different. If you have a skin condition or are under medical care, check with your doctor first.

Eyebrow Threading FAQ
Does threading hurt?
Most people feel a mild tingling or pinching that passes quickly. It usually gets easier with regular visits.
How long does eyebrow threading last?
Usually about 3 to 4 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows.
How long does an appointment take?
Brows usually take about 10 to 15 minutes.
Is threading better than waxing?
For brows and face, many people prefer threading because there's no hot wax or chemicals, it's gentler on sensitive skin, and it gives a more precise shape. Waxing still works well for larger areas.
Can I get threaded if I use retinoids or acne medication?
Threading is often a better option than waxing in that case, because it doesn't lift the skin. If you're unsure, check with your doctor first.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Threading is walk-in only, so just stop by during business hours.
